 Immediate Opening for an Experienced Human Resources Manager

Located in Columbus, OH, Sequel Pomegranate Health Systems provides treatment services to adolescents, ages 12 to 17, with mental health and behavioral disorders. We have a 70-bed residential treatment program serving males and females and a 20-bed acute hospital accredited by the Joint Commission for teens requiring intensive crisis care and treatment intervention.
Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for oversight of the Human Resources Department. Ensure company compensation, payroll, benefits and training programs are administered according to policy. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and industry regulations are administered timely.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation and guidance to the Executive Director and management staff to ensure decisions are made according to the human resources policies to ensure consistency and fairness and without liability exposure to the company.
  • Responsible for credentialing and privileging medical staff applicants to ensure qualifications and requirements are met according to the Medical Staff Bylaws, Joint Commission and state agencies.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining employee personnel, performance evaluation, training, benefits and workers’ compensation files. Audit personnel files to ensure compliant with company policies and regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for administration of the human resources policies, to include but not limited to, implementation of corporate and local policies, developing local polices and dissemination of new and revised policies to all employees.
  • Oversight for the company recruiting program, to include developing relationships with local schools, representation at job fairs, utilization of web sites and coordinating open on-site interview events. Review and screen potential resumes to ensure applicants meet the requirements of open job positions and forward to appropriate manager.
  • Manage the hiring process, to include but not limited to, offering job positions, preparing employment letters, pre-employment requirements and on- boarding requirements.
  • Responsible for developing the annual New Employee Orientation schedule. Coordinate and implement each scheduled date.
  • Responsible for monitoring and communicating to managers due dates for employees annual performance evaluations, competency assessments and training.
  • Responsible for monitoring numerous employee due dates, to include but not limited to, licensures, training and company driving requirements to ensure employees remain compliant with company policies and procedures and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist managers in investigating employee incidents and infractions to ensure decisions for incidents and infractions are made according to human resources policies.
  • Oversight for Employee of the Month program, Employee Appreciation Day and holiday event, to include planning, coordinating and communicating to employees.
  • Maintain an open door policy for all employees, at all levels, to meet with the HR Manager.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the unemployment program, to include responding to unemployment clams and representing the facility in hearings and appeals.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the worker’s compensation program, to include allowing or disallowing claims, monitoring overall claims and costs, implementing programs to reduce injuries and the transitional work program. Collaborate with the designated managed care organization and third party organization, when necessary.
  • In collaboration with corporate human resources, assist in responding to federal and state litigation charges.
  • Oversight for payroll processing. Ensure personnel action requests and payroll adjustments are submitted correctly and timely. Collaborate with managers to ensure employee timesheets are approved timely.
  • Responsible for preparing and reporting weekly and monthly human resources data reports.
  • Responsible for the Front Desk, to include hiring and supervising the receptionists.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the Human Resources Generalist.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Three – five year’s Human Resources Management experience, preferable in the health care field.
  • One year minimum payroll experience.
  • Current Ohio driver’s license.
  • Advanced MS Office skill set including Excel.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in the development and implementation of agency personnel policies.
  • Solid knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and ability to carry out duties with initiative and limited supervision.
  • Must be able to multitask and be detail-oriented.
  • Fulfill assignments with reliability and punctuality.
  • Appropriate interpersonal/personal boundaries and the ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
  • Maturity of judgment and behavior.
  • Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced changing environment.
