Session Description - Craig B Clayton
Selling Senior Management on Supporting Your Diversity Initiative
The data from the U.S. Department of Labor has validated the shift in demographics in the united States. According to their data as of
today over 75% of people entering the workforce in the United States are either women, immigrants or people of color. Therefore,
becoming diverse is not an option...it is an inevitability! Managing and leveraging that diversity is a critical business competency.
If your competition does it better than you do, they win...it's that simple. Yet many executives and leaders still don't understand why this
is an important business issue.
* How do you get the leaders to buy-in?
* How do you sell them on the need for this issue to get more of their attention?
The answer is clear....you have to make the connection to either the top line (revenue growth), bottom line (cost reductions) and/or pipe line (recruiting - retention and/or talent management). If you are a 'for profit' business it is critical that you make the business case in clear and compelling terms. If you could demonstrate to your executives a link to the companies EPS (earnings per share) goals....you have their attention. Now you can! If you are 'non-profit' this issue can still be linked to increased costs and overhead.
Come find out how this information is being linked to earnings and profits.
Finally we can move this topic beyond representation...come find out how!
