Kevin D. Dalton, SPHR
Kevin Dalton is the Manager, HR Solutions for Procter and Gamble. Kevin has
worked in various HR capacities including employee relations, employment, organizational
design, compensation, and organization data analysis. He received a Bachelor’s
degree in Business with an HR Concentration from Wright State University, and
a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.
Kevin has been certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources since 1998,
and has been a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) since
1996. Kevin is on the Ohio State SHRM Council as the Governmental Affairs Director.
Prior to this role, Kevin was the Legislative Director for the Miami Valley
Human Resource Association (2001/2002). Kevin is a founding member of the Governmental
Affairs Strategy Board, which is part of the Ohio State SHRM Council. He continues
to lobby at both the state and federal level on pro-business, pro-HR issues.
Kevin also speaks throughout Ohio on legislative issues and is an Adjunct Instructor
at Wright State University.
Sue Doud
Sue Doud is a Senior HR Rep for Children's Hospital of Columbus, OH. Sue has
been serving as the Government Affairs Manager for the Human Resource Association
of Central Ohio since 2002 and on the HRACO Board for 6 years. She has over
13 years of HR experience in a variety of industries including Hospitality,
Temporary Services and healthcare, primarily working in employment and recruitment.
Sue holds a BA from Shippensburg University (PA) and a Masters Certificate in
Human Resources from Central Michigan University.
Tony Fiore
Tony Fiore is the Director of Labor and Human Resources Policy for the Ohio
Chamber of Commerce and has been a member of the Ohio Chamber’s Governmental
Affairs Team since October of 1999. He is responsible for lobbying members of
the Ohio General Assembly, the Governor and Ohio’s Congressional Delegation
in support of issues that foster a competitive climate in Ohio favorable to
economic growth. He also negotiates with administrative agencies to resolve
issues that are of concern to the Chamber’s membership. His specific areas of
concentration include workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation, employment
law, OSHA regulations, labor relations, insurance and other general human resource
issues.
In addition to his lobbying duties, he serves as the staff liaison for the Chamber’s
Workers’ Comp, Employment Law and Education & Workforce Development Committees.
He assists the committees in performing their mission, which includes forming
the policy the Chamber takes on legislation, and developing solutions for long
and short-term problems. Tony also serves as Ohio’s liaison to the U.S. Chamber
of Commerce on labor and employment issues.
Tony previously worked for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation as the executive
assistant to BWC Administrator Jim Conrad, as well as, serving as an aide to
both Senator Doug White and Senator Nancy Chiles Dix. He holds a Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration degree from The Ohio State University and
currently attends Capital University Law School in its part-time evening JD/MBA
program.
Patricia A. Grischow
Pat Grischow is a Senior Government Affairs Specialist for The Timken Company,
a leading international manufacturer of highly engineered bearings, alloy and
specialty steels and components, headquartered in Canton, Ohio. She manages
human resource legislative and regulatory issues on the state and federal level,
and is responsible for the Government Affairs communications program for US
Timken associates. At Timken, she has held management positions in benefits,
personnel, labor relations and bearing plant operations.
A SHRM member, Pat has been active on various legislative, health care, workers’
compensation and human resource committees sponsored by local, state and national
business organizations. She was an original stakeholder in the development of
Ohio's workers' compensation managed care system and participated in the negotiations
yielding Ohio's patient protection legislation. As a member of the Ohio Governor's
Workforce Policy Board and the Stark/Tuscarawas Workforce Investment Board,
she is involved with state and local efforts to implement the federal Workforce
Investment Act and create a one-stop employment system in Ohio.
Pat received her BA in economics from Mount Union College, Alliance, Ohio and
her MBA from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio.
Andy Marfurt, SPHR
Currently the Vice President of Human Resources for CMHC Systems, Andy Marfurt
has had over 13 years of leadership and strategic planning experience as a Human
Resources executive. After 6 years as a bank manager, he accepted a position
with Lazarus Department Stores as a Director of Human Resources with responsibilities
for 700 associates. After three years at Lazarus, Mr. Marfurt joined Telhio
Credit Union, the largest credit union in Columbus, as their Manager of Human
Resources. Five years later, he was recruited to join CMHC Systems in April
of 1998. He is an active part of the Senior Management team, ensuring that his
department goals of recruiting, motivating, and retaining star performers match
the company goals of product and employee development.
Mr. Marfurt holds a Bachelor of Science from Miami University where he majored
in both Finance and Marketing. He is a member of the Society for Human Resources
Management (SHRM), and has been an active member of Human Resources Association
of Central Ohio (HRACO) since 1995. Currently on the Board of Directors for
HRACO (1000+ members), he holds the office of Past-President, and was previously
VP of Membership, VP of Programming and Secretary of the association. He has
earned the designation of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) in 1997,
and currently is a local instructor for other HR professionals studying for
this national certification.
Sara Rose, Esq.
Sara L. Rose, Esq., represents companies in employment-related matters, including
workers' compensation, employment litigation, and general human-resources issues.
Sara is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a specialist in the area
of workers' compensation, and was selected by her peers as a "Super Lawyer"
in 2004. She received a J.D. from Capital University Law School, where she served
on Law Review and graduated valedictorian. Her undergraduate degree was a B.A.
with Honors in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, where
she graduated magna cum laude. In addition to starting her own law practice
and lecturing on various employment-related topics, Sara has been involved in
numerous professional and community-related organizations. She serves on the
Ohio State Bar Association's Board of Governors for Labor & Employment Law,
is Past Chairman of the Board of the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce,
and is a founding member of the SHRM Governmental Affairs Strategy Board.
Rebecca A. Thacker Ph.D., PHR
Dr. Rebecca A. Thacker is an Associate Professor of HRM at Ohio University.
She received an MBA and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. Prior to becoming
a professor, she was a human resources manager for a financial institution.
At Ohio University, she teaches in both the undergraduate HRM program and Ohio
University’s MBA Without Boundaries program. She is a widely published author
with publications in both scholarly and practitioner journals, such as HRMagazine,
the Journal of Management, Human Relations, the Journal of Psychology, Business
Horizons, Training & Development Journal and Education & Training. Dr.
Thacker’s research has involved topics such as target response to sexual harassment,
influence tactics and their effects on various work-related outcomes, and currently,
the exploration of employee definitions of effective management and managerial
creation of social capital in the workplace. As well, Dr. Thacker has consulted
with both private and public sector organizations. Politically active, she has
testified before a committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Ohio
State Senate’s Judiciary Committee, and the Ohio Advisory Commission to the
U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Dr. Thacker has been a volunteer leader with
the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) for 15 years, having served
as a member of the Workplace Diversity Committee, the Research Committee, the
Area III Board’s College Relations chair, student SHRM chapter advisor, Board
member of the Lancaster, OH chapter, and the State Legislative Director for
the Ohio State Council of SHRM. While State Legislative Director, Dr Thacker
began the Lobby Day event and founded the Government Affairs Strategy Board
of the Ohio State Council of SHRM, of which she is currently a member.
Kelly DeLuca, PHR
Kelly DeLuca is the Human Resource Manager for Dynalab, Inc., an electronics
manufacturing company in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She has been working there as a
generalist since 1999. Kelly began work there following her graduation from
Ohio University with a bachelor’s in business administration, with a major in
Human Resource Management. While at Ohio University, Kelly was an active member
of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She is currently a member
of SHRM and has been a member of the Human Resources of Central Ohio (HRACO)
since 2000.
