Prior to coming to UA Steve was at Sul Ross State University, and Franklin University (where he was the department chair). His areas of teaching encompass broad areas of management including human resource management, organizational behavior, international management, and strategic management. In total, Steve has taught over thirty different courses. He has been voted by undergraduate students to be the ?outstanding teacher of the year? (Sul Ross State university) and the ?most influential faculty member? by graduate students (Franklin University).
Steve has consulted for numerous organizations such as Bank One, Nestlé, Sandia National Laboratories, and NASA as well as many smaller businesses. Steve has lived overseas for 8 years (4 years in Asia, 2 years in Europe, and 2 years in South America), and speaks fluent Spanish. He leads The University of Akron study abroad program to Greece, and has taken executive MBAs on tours of Europe. He is currently the director of the Fitzgerald Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, and the faculty advisor for the student chapter of the Akron Society for Human Resource Management. Prior to pursuing education, Steve has worked as a hod tender, a long distance truck driver, a ranch hand, a research diver, and on a squid ship in the Pacific. He also worked for IBM for several years as a human factors engineer. He appreciates the value of education.
